Well...

The Lincoln-Douglas debates it wasn't.

Bush did exactly as well/poorly as I expected, and Kerry did somewhat better. Were I not familiar with Kerry's all-over-the-map positions on Iraq, I'd say he looked pretty good.

It will be interesting to see how the spin plays out.

That's pretty much how I saw it as well.

I was a little surprised. I expected Kerry to look comfortable. This is supposedly his area of expertise, right? I was surprised that the president did not look as comfortable. In fact, I don't recall him looking this uncomfortable in 2000. So I wasn't surprised by Kerry, but I was by the president. I'll tell you what shocked me. Kerry's people thought Kerry won while the president's people thought that the president won. Weird.

And I think it changed zero people's minds. I guess we'll see.
