New addition to the family

This is Zora. She came to us already named, so we're not sure whether she's named after Zora Neale Hurston or that chick from "Joe Millionaire." Anyway, Zora's a one-and-a-half-year-old Black Lab, who didn't quite make it all the way to graduation from Guiding Eyes for the Blind (it's a tough school.)

Anyway, we gave her a new home, and she's great, but we've all been adapting to the new living arrangements. That's the primary reason for the light blogging lately, but things should return to normalcy soon. :-)

Sadly, I first thought of the JM chick when you wrote "Zora". So very sad for me.

I just did an image search and it seems that Zora is a popular name for dogs.

By the way, are there any black dogs on television? I don't know if Zora has any ambitions in that regard, but, as the keeper of a black dog myself, there definitely seems to be some discrimination going on.

Anyway, she looks sweet. Hope all those nice pillows are in one piece when you get home tonight.

She is so beautiful! I forgot about the JM girl.

As the owner of one yellow lab and one lab/chow mix, I can honestly say you made a very wise decision in getting Zora

I have a soft spot for labs. Five of the dogs I've had in my lifetime have been 3 Labs and 2 were 1/2 Lab, 1/2 whoknowswhat. You made a good choice. ;)

Beautiful labber. Almost enough to make me think you might be a compassionate human after all.

Thanks, Jill! :-)

But please be careful. I have a "heartless bastard" reputation to keep up here. ;-)
