Fact checking the fact checker

I'm a frequent reader of Snopes myself, but I have always been a bit bemused by the way people will cite Snopes dispositively in an argument, as if it the site emanated from mountsinai.com.

Well XRLQ has compiled quite a few examples of apparent bias in Snopes entries from the past. Check it out, I think he has a point.

Well, Snopes is still useful for snipping back to your family about those stupid email advice letters about boycotts and the latest fears (SwifferJet KILLS your pets Aaaaagh!). i wouldn't expect them to be able navigate the murky waters of politics very smoothly.

By the way, it seems that Michael Coles (CEO Caribou Coffee) is Jewish, AND their Shariah advisor Qaradawi is gone. If you just don't want to support a coffee chain that is 7/8ths Arab-owned then I guess you'd have a point, but i doubt their is any tie to terrorism there. Shit who knows?....

So.. it's true what they say about Pop Rocks?
