You might want to sit down for this

Okay, brace yourself. This might be a little tough to swallow. Today's New York Times has endorsed John Kerry for president.

Yes, I know this is a stunner. Can I get you a glass of water? You look a little wan.

I have to confess, I haven't read the entire piece. I might get around to fisking it a little later. Right now, however, I am still just too shell-shocked....

The Philadelphia Inquirer endorsed Kerry last week as well.

I guess Bush should just concede now, why prolong matters...

I have always maintained that the Times could eliminate the great suspense of their endorsements by announcing something like this:

The Times endorses Alice Schmoo (R-L-TG [trans-gender]) for dogcatcher in Bensonhurst. Her abililty to relate to males and females clearly indicates her ability to handle the task. Her opponent, Adam Chicklet does not have the experience necessary for such a position. However, this paper that when he finally graduates from the seventh grade, he will be a valuable asset to the community.

The Times further announces that it endorses every other Democrat running in every election within the tri-state area.

Although some have had qualms about Leonard Letcher, D-L candidate for mayor of Long Branch, currently serving in Rahway state prison for child abuse and armed robbery, we feel his credentials in manufacturing license plates and his clean record since his incarceration eight years ago gives him the edge over six term incumbent Republican, Joe Whitebread whose sole claim to fame is having run a clean government.

Yeah, I know, it would kill the suspense, wouldn't it?

The New York Times endorsed Bob Franks (R) over Jon Corzine (D) a few years back. While they usually support Democrats, there are exceptions.

Got hiccups, PE?
