That's a stanza from a fairly obscure country song from the 1980's about a hurricane hitting the Crescent City. Let's hope we don't find out exactly how much water it takes....

That same song's lyrics have come to mind for me also after the devistation of Katrina. Do you remember the artist who recorded this?

The artist's name is Leon Everette. On a personal note, I went to high school with his daughter.
