Does Al Gore flush?

Saturday I stopped for a bathroom break at one of those massive, Interstate "Service Area" complexes, with a men's room the size of a Costco. The facilities touted their new "waterless" urinals, and how this new innovation would save blah-blah thousands of gallons of water each year.

Yes, presumably that means that these appliances service more men each day than Paris Hilton on margarita night at Bungalo 8 without ever once seeing a drop of fresh water. I tried not to think about it. Mind you, this wasn't in some Southwestern desert locale, but in Maine. Maine, like our bodies, is something like 70% water, at least from what I've seen of it.

I hope this doesn't become a trend. I'm all for conservation and everything, but I do believe there are times when we should just gut it up and use the water.

Those waterless urinals are a pretty amazing...according to Falcon, one of the manufacturers, waterless urinals "utilize a trap insert filled with a sealant liquid instead of water. The lighter than water sealant floats on top of the urine collected in the U-bend, preventing odors from being released into the air. Although the cartridge and sealant must be periodically replaced, the system saves anywhere between 15,000 and 45,000 gallons (approx. between 56'800 and 170'000 liters) of water per urinal per year."

Thanks for explaining. I was wondering how the hell it was supposed to work. I guess I feel a bit better about it now... I guess.

Although, the site doesn't say what's in the sealant liquid.

I'm sure that could open up a whole lot of other questions...

Maybe this explains why Larry Craig didn't flush after propositioning an undercover officer in that airport bathroom....

At least now we know where the notion of gay marriage being a threat to het marriage comes from -- if you're heavily closeted, gays ARE a threat to your marriage.

ALL sexuality is best "closeted."

The ONLY "gay right" worthy of support is tolerance - making it a crime to target gays for assault, etc. .....and oh yeah, they probably should have the legal benefits supplied by a Civil Union. I believe in that "tolerance" for ALL sexual deviancies.

Gay adoption - NO, it's bad for the children.

Gay Marriage - NO, it's a backdoor means to attacking organized religion, as it was used to do that in Europe.

I think the Craig resignation creates a problem for others in THIS way; SEE: http://workingclassconservative.blogspot.com/2007/08/larry-craig-ready-to-resign-monday.html
