Far out

I usually don't put much stock in this internet quizzes, but this one seems to have me nailed down pretty well, at least towards the top of the list. Here are my results. Try it yourself.

66% Rudy Giuliani
65% John McCain
62% Bill Richardson
59% Mitt Romney
58% Mike Huckabee
55% Mike Gravel
54% Ron Paul
53% Chris Dodd
53% Hillary Clinton
51% Fred Thompson
50% John Edwards
50% Barack Obama
48% Tom Tancredo
48% Dennis Kucinich
42% Joe Biden

Well my top match was Obama at 87% so I guess I'm in good shape :)

Interesting distribution you got. You're kind of bunched a little above the middle. Mine went from 91% to 14%.

70% John McCain
64% Bill Richardson
63% Hillary Clinton
62% Barack Obama
62% Mitt Romney
60% Rudy Giuliani
58% John Edwards
58% Chris Dodd
56% Mike Huckabee
54% Ron Paul
52% Joe Biden
51% Dennis Kucinich
51% Mike Gravel
47% Fred Thompson
46% Tom Tancredo

You're so purple!

You're right. I'm slightly more blue:

96% Mike Gravel
95% Dennis Kucinich
82% John Edwards
78% Chris Dodd
78% Barack Obama
76% Joe Biden
73% Hillary Clinton
69% Bill Richardson
33% Rudy Giuliani
27% Ron Paul
24% John McCain
17% Mike Huckabee
17% Mitt Romney
15% Tom Tancredo
8% Fred Thompson

I actually hadn't realized that I was so very very blue, but...And I will say that some of the questions being in absolutes probably put me more in the blue than purple than I probably am.

At least we can all agree that Fred Thompson is lame.

Well, at this point, it almost seems like Thompson is thinking that himself. Is he even actively campaigning? I feel like his supporters are way more passionate than he is. That is not a good thing.

Most of these quizzes are pretty useless because the questions require binary responses, largely without any nuance.

Although this one probably came closest to my own political/ideological preferences;

Tom Tancredo 73%

Mitt Romney 68%

John McCain 67%

Fred Thompson 58%

Mike Huckabee 57%

Ron Paul 55%

Bill Richardson 53%

Hillary Clinton 52%

John Edwards 51%

Barack Obama 51%

Chris Dodd 51%

Rudy Giuliani 40%

Joe Biden 28%

Mike Gravel 21%

Dennis Kucinich 21%

Too many of the questions were too vague, in my view. For instance, I feel that the death penalty should be "available only in a narrow range of cases," (which is how I answered) BUT also feel very strongly that it should be made available for a wider aray of crimes - over a dozen states have OK'd Capital Punishment for repeat child molesters, and I support that. I also support the death penalty for treason (what Lynne Stewart, Adam Gadhane and John "Taliban Johnny" Walker-Lindt) are all guilty of.

There were far too many questions like that to really get an accurate picture of the respondents beliefs.

Barry -- I always figured you for a Dennis Kucinich over Joe Biden kind of guy despite your libertarian posturing. ;-)

My results surprised me at first until I realized that what I don't like about Mitt is his malleability on issues. I'm going to stick with Fred for the time being, but obviously it wouldn't kill me if McCain got the nomination.

86% Mitt Romney
77% Fred Thompson
76% John McCain

48% Barack Obama
48% Hillary Clinton
46% John Edwards
44% Chris Dodd
32% Joe Biden
27% Mike Gravel
22% Dennis Kucinich

Well, me too.

Yeah, Romney was higher than expected on my chart too. This test clearly presumes that you can believe what Romney says. :-)
